J. Tyson & Associates, Inc. (JTA) is proud to offer a college
level internship program for students interested in pursuing a career within the
Clinical Research Field.
Our College Program focuses mainly on our field based
clinical operations and allows students the opportunity to be mentored by our
senior level associates while they are completing actual in-field assignments.
JTA’s field based
Clinical Research Associates have multiple years of experience in the Research
industry and are excited to impart their knowledge on others that value this
information.
For students interested in obtaining a better understanding

Students interested in applying for the College program
will be required to have the following qualifications and mandates:
ü
All student applicants must be able to provide
verifiable proof that their current Councilor or Dean advocates their
participation in the program
ü
All student applicants must be majoring in a form
of health sciences
ü
All student applicants will provide proof that
their current GPA is a 3.0 or higher for at least the previous 12 months
ü
All student applicants must be able to meet the
minimum requirements for utilization of Microsoft Office products
ü
All student applicants must be at least 18 years
of age
ü
All student applicants must be able to provide
themselves with enough financial stability for the purposes of completing U.S.
based travel. The company will reimburse all out of pocket costs that meet the
requirements of the companies travel policy.

extensive travel using all forms of transportation

for interns?

All student interns are paid at an hourly rate of $8.00/hr
Q. What will I learn
from participating in this internship?
A.
College interns will be submersed into the Clinical Department by way of
assisting our Senior Level Clinical Research Associates in their everyday
Monitoring activities. However, each incoming intern is required to complete
JTA’s 80 hour training program: Introduction to Clinical Research & Monitoring.
During the course of these 80 hours you will be introduced to the fundamentals
of human subject research, the purpose of the FDA, and how a Clinical Research
Organization, such as JTA, fits into the research industry. In addition, you
will gain valuable knowledge on office policies & procedures, standard office &
field etiquette, utilization of Microsoft products in an actual work
environment, gain customer service skills, learn the rigors of work travel, get
a general understanding of Part 21 Code of Federal Regulations, and obtain
desirable team participation aptitude.
Q. What is the application
process like?
A. Applicants can expect the following to be a definite part
of the application process:

Applicants will deliver resume via email to
etyson@jtyson.com with proof of GPA,
proof of major relational to JTA’s Industry focus, and recommendations from
school official
v
Chosen applicants will be invited to complete a
formal interview with management team members
v
Applicants that do well in the verbal interview
will be invited to complete standard computer tests to determine if they have
the necessary skills required to work within the JTA systems.
v
Applicants invited to participate in the
internship program will be required to sign JTA’s standard Paid Internship
Agreement.
Q. What will happen once the internship is over?
A. At the end of your
internship with JTA the intern will be required to complete a formal report on
their experience within two weeks post their final date. The report must be
delivered to the guidance councilor or a JTA recognized college representative.
The representative will deliver a copy of this report to JTA for verification of
receipt. In addition, the interns mentor, for the period of the internship, will
conversely create a report on the interns overall performance and deliver this
to the students guidance councilor or a JTA recognized high school
representative.

What are the hours I will be required to complete?
A. College interns
will work mainly from the JTA Corporate Headquarters in Crivitz, WI. However,
travel will be required after completion of the JTA Introduction to Clinical
Research & Monitoring 80 Hour Program. Due to the travel factor exact hours are
indeterminable.
The college program starts June 13 and ends on August 11 in the year
2011. Interns will be expected to work either Monday – Thursday or Tuesday –
Friday; dependent on their mentors established work schedule.
